Maple Virtual Health Program Virtual Doctor Support!

For a limited time, Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services and Maple are collaborating to provide online doctor visits to dependents of Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members living in Canada. It is a safe and effective way to access routine healthcare from the comfort of your home.

How it works?
With the click of a button, you can communicate with a Canadian-licensed general practitioner within minutes. You can access this by text, phone or video, from your smartphone, tablet or computer. The service is available seven days a week, 24 hours a day.

If you are unable to connect with your own family physician or don’t have one, Maple’s doctors can provide you with:

  • medical advice,
  • prescriptions,
  • lab or imaging requisitions.

More information on the Program and Maple
The Maple Virtual Care Program has been designed to alleviate pressures on relocating families by providing round-the-clock, instant access to doctors upon arrival in Cold Lake. This service can help alleviate the stress of accessing health care services in Alberta, by providing an alternative way to address common issues such as prescriptions (new and renewals), medical diagnosis and advice, referrals to specialists, lab tests and managing your healthcare records.  You can access Maple right from your computer or via the Maple IOS or Android app.

Who are the doctors?  All doctors on Maple are Canadian licensed, and practice medicine in Canadian clinics and hospitals.  There are a mix of emergency room physicians and family doctors, all of whom are experienced in providing healthcare in a virtual setting.  They can provide medical diagnosis, treatment recommendations and advice, order lab tests and prescriptions, all on Maple.

Maple Virtual Records:  Along with access to doctors, Maple provides you with the ability to store your health records in one spot, which you can easily share between healthcare providers at your discretion.  Your previous medical history can be loaded to Maple and at the end of the program, you will continue to be able to access all medical records from visits on Maple from anywhere you have an internet connection.

What you can use Maple for:

  • New prescriptions (non-narcotics), or renewals of prescriptions – Maple doctors can issue digital prescriptions and send them right to your local pharmacy.

  • Common medical conditions diagnosed by a doctor on Maple include (but are not limited to):

    • Cold & flu
    • Eye and ear infections
    • Allergic reactions
    • Minor injuries (such as sprains & burns)
    • Urinary tract infections
    • Sexual health issues
    • Mental health issues
