Children & Parents Programs (H&R MFRC)

Our programs for children and parents are designed to support military families with children meet the challenges that can come with the unique military lifestyle. To register for any of our programs please visit our Online Registration system.

Play & Learn (12 MONTHS – 5 YEARS)

This family play group provides an opportunity for caregivers to interact and build skills with their children through play, and also for families to connect with one another in an engaging environment. Through play, transitions, circle time songs and activities, and informal conversations, parents learn about developmental ages and stages, gain tools to help understand their child’s behaviour, and prepare the family and child for school.

Halifax site: Tuesdays & Thursdays starting January 7, 2020 | 9:15 – 11:15am

New Baby (0 – 12 months)

Bringing home your newborn can bring both joys and challenges, and what better way to embrace this exciting time than by connecting with other families in a safe and caring environment? With free play, circle time, and parent discussion, this group is a wonderful place for you and your baby to connect with each other while you build friendships with other families, learn about early childhood development, and discover resources in the community. This program welcomes expectant moms and caregivers of babies up to 12 months old.

Free Friday Play (12 MONTHS – 5 YEARS)

This program provides a space for parents to play, explore and create with their children in a community space. Parents are responsible for providing their own peanut free snack, if desired, and clean-up of the space. Best suited for children twelve months to five years, but all children five and under are welcome.
