Garrison Life Magazine

The Garrison Life Magazine is a seasonal publication, which targets over 8,000 Canadian Forces members and Department of National Defence (DND) employees who combined contribute over $200 million to the local Kingston economy, every year! It is a full colour publication that has over 80 pages of print material. This publication is also available on-line, and there is also a subscription option available.

CFB Kingston, Personnel Support Programs (PSP Kingston) have taken the necessary steps to become the new publisher of the Garrison Life Magazine. This transfer included all files and templates and took place over the winter of 2021. 

The first PSP Kingston Garrison Life Magazine was published on April 9, 2021. The online version is available here for your review.

The next issue of the publication will be published on August 25, 2021.

Military Veterans Plus program (MVP+) 

The MVP + program is for former CAF Members and promotes a sense of community by fostering opportunities that enhance quality of life and overall well-being. The MVP+ program is also an information and connection service, an opportunity to meet new people and reacquaint with old friends, and a rewarding way to get involved in the community and share passions.

- Cost: $500.00 +HST
 

CF Appreciation 

The CF Appreciation Program is the official discount program designed exclusively for the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) community in recognition of their sacrifices and dedication. There are local CF Appreciation Ambassadors in Kingston, Ontario to ensure that you have a local representative, and to ensure that you are aware of all of the other base initiatives and programs.

The CF Appreciation Program is a one-stop shop for our members to access all offers and experiences our Industry Partners wish to provide to the CAF community. 

The CF1 card is the official membership card for the CF Appreciation Program.  Members have access to two forms of the CF1 card; a physical card or a digital card available through our Apple and Android apps.  A CF1 card is required to access our secured website and app, and by extension to all the discounts and services provided by our Industry Partners. 

Want to join the CF Appreciation Program? 
Complete the online application form for review and approval.  The form outlines all the information we require to consider your application to become an Industry Partner. 

To get you started, we have summarized all the requirements and information needed to join the program. You will need to provide the following: 

1. A brief description of your business or service, and your meaningful and exclusive offer for CF1 card members. What is your business or service and what is the offer?  Take the time to introduce it by providing a brief marketing description (maximum of 150 words).  You will be able to introduce yourself to our members and promote your offer to the CF1 members.  Be sure to clearly state your discount, how to redeem the offer, to whom it is available and include any restrictions that may be applied to the offer. 

2. Is your offer restricted to certain segments of the CF1 membership base?  The CAF community is comprised of many segments, and if your offer is restricted that will need to be clearly indicated: 
- Currently serving Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members 
- Veterans 
- RCMP (both currently serving and Veterans) 
- Members of the Extended Defence Team, which includes National Defence 
- Family members of all the above are also eligible (Family members include spouse, parents, and dependent children) 

3. Positioning your offer on our website: We have a keyword search tool on our website that our members use to find what they are looking for, be it an attraction, an event, or a location/destination.  Make sure to include any keywords that you would like us to add so that when someone runs a search, your listing is returned. 

​​4. You will need to provide your company logo.  It needs to be in either a .JPEG, .GIF, or .PNG format. 

For your ease of reference, below is what a typical listing looks like on our website. Our website is secure, and only those who qualify for a CF1 card may access the discounts and special offers on our website.  Therefore, any offer that you extend will be visible only to those who have been verified as belonging to the CAF community.
