Resources you can explore in your community
Use your network of people
- Consult members of your immediate or extended family.
- Consult the people in charge of the full-time care of your children. They may recommend other educators or childcare providers willing to look after your children in this way.
- Look around your neighbourhood: a neighbour, a close friend or a mother of one of your child’s friends.
Use the resources in your municipality
- Ask your CLSC about the services offered to families in case of an emergency or a family crisis.
- Call the “Maison de la famille” in your region. If it is not able to answer your request itself, it will probably help you explore the options available in your area!
- Do an Internet search of organizations offering respite childcare services in your region (some suggestions are listed below).
- Visit your municipality’s website to find information on family and childcare services.
