Second Language Training

When living in the National Capital Region, speaking both official languages (English and French) is very helpful and a highly sought-after skill by employers. That is why your Military Family Resource Centre has different options to help you obtain your language learning goals.

WE OFFER DIFFERENT WAYS TO LEARN A SECOND LANGUAGE

In Person Programs

For the Love of French (session running - no more spots available)

Course overview: This is a hybrid program of online and in class tutoring sessions that provides CAF family members a more flexible way to learn a French as a second language. Each student will have access to an online account where they will complete all their online work on their own time. Then during the scheduled in class tutoring sessions students can work with our excellent tutor to get help, do activities, and interact with other students.

If you are interested in English classes, please contact our Employment and Education Services Coordinator, Alice Danguy at SLT@mfrc-ncr.ca

French Curriculum Program for Parents

Over a period of seven (7) weeks, the Canadian Parents for French (CPF) volunteer organization will be hosting a weekly two-hour introductory course to help parents endeavouring to support their children’s French education.

This course is designed to align with Ontario schoolboards’ French as a Second Language (FSL) curriculum, and mirrors the vocabulary used by French immersion schools in Kindergarten to grade 3.
