Celebrating With You – Our Shining Stars

“Every child has the right to rest, relax, play and to take part in cultural and creative activities,” states article 31 in the Convention on the Rights of Children.

When children engage in creative play, they develop physically, mentally and emotionally. They develop a strong foundation that will help prepare them for future life experiences.

With this in mind, Personnel Support Programs (PSP), a division of Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS), invite you and your children to take part in this year’s national art project, Our Shining Stars.

Register for a FREE art activity now! All you need to do to take part in our World Children’s Day celebrations is to:

- Find your local information
- Register your child(ren) for a free supplies kit;
- Complete the art project by November 20, 2020.
- Participate in the virtual event live on Facebook on November 20, 2020 at 7 PM EST.

We’d love to see all the budding artists’ art masterpieces! Submit a picture of the final artwork with your little artist(s) at recreation@cfmws.com. We will share the pictures with deployed military members as a thank you for their hard work.

It’s important to encourage dialogue between CAF members and their families. Children who take part in this art project will learn about how their CAF parent or loved-one helps protect theirs and other children’s rights every day.

For the November 20th virtual event, we ask that you show your support by wearing blue. Landmark buildings around the world will be lighting up in blue to show support for children’s rights.
