Recreational Clubs

The Community Recreation Department sponsors the resi-dents’ committee and several recreational clubs, such as the Figure Skating Club, the Old Lions Recreational Hockey League, the Music School and the Valcartier Recrea tional Shooting Club. It is also affiliated with the Val-Bélair/Valcartier Minor Hockey Asso ciation, the Association de hockey mineur féminin de la Capitale-Nationale, the Mistral Laurentien Soccer Club and the Ringuette de la Capi tale Association.

Minor Hockey and Ringuette
According to the agreement on mutual provision of services for ice sports with the city of Québec, all residents of Shannon (including Courcelette) and St-Gabriel-de-Valcartier must register with the Community Recreation Department of CFB Valcartier, regardless of category, for the activities of hockey and ringette.

Recreational Shooting Club using the best shooting fields in the province of Quebec. Facilities allow safe practice for shoo -ting of a range from 25 meters to 1200 meters

Figure Skating Club 
The Base Valcartier Figure Skating Club helps skaters learn and practice. Year in and year out, skaters of all ages hone their skating skills at the Clément-Boulanger Arena located at the base.

Old Lions Recreational Hockey League
Allows active and retired Canadian Forces members age 35 and older to participate in a Olympic B league category. Three teams meet once or twice a week during friendly 90 minutes match. To be accepted in the league, players must participate at the autumnal training camp to validate their skill level.

Recreational Sport Leagues
Many recreational leagues are available for you. Training camps are held at the beginning of the season to evaluate the level of each player.
